Iulia Albu says she's "Flapper" girl, but does she know what that means?

Iulia Albu calls herself 'Flapper girl', probably without understanding very well what it means. She has taken this flapper stuff so seriously, that her ex-husband, exquisite shoe designer Mihai Albu, should urgently make her a pair of shoes, so that Iulia could return in time, back to the 20s. If the travel time would succeed, Iulia would understand that this flapper stuff does not mean what she thought...

The correct definition, explained for anyone's understandng of the Flapper current, from the interwar period is:  female empowerment, misunderstood and reduced to total freedom in the behavior. The Flapper girls were interested in superficiality, in general, fighting for "freedom" of women and understanding through this unlimited consumption of alcohol, night parties, lack of responsibility, unruly behavior (no rules and just as you like).

Dr. R Murray-Leslie, psychiatrist, conducted a survey at the time, on the number of women left alone in England after the war, from which we extract the definition of women's Flapper "type of woman <<butterfly>>, "Frivolous, half-naked, in "Flapper" minimal dresses, irresponsible and undisciplined, for which a dance, a man, a hat or a new car were far more important than the state of the nation".

The elliberation of which Iulia Albu speaks has no connection with the one promoted by the Flapper girls.

Flapper current social class reached mainly the part of the people uninterested in true values.

Flapper girls were the main concerns of night out, alcohol, clothing and not much else. Moreover, all this movement (or current or whatever wants Iulia to call it) did not last very long and disappeared after a few years.

In Iulia's case it's not about courage or "liberation" of your own ego or anything that other wild goose chase, but strictly a change of image, which, if it were strictly limited to stylistic information would have been OK.

It's good, especially if you're a passionate, have as much courage to stop in time and not to fall into awkward. That's because Mihai Albu's wife's statement was: "I am a Flapper girl!" and the reality of "I want to dress flapper and be retro, for there I find myself in terms of fashion" is another.

The lame side of image changes occurs when we don't know when to stop at the image, when, suddenly, the picture makes us lose some sense of reality and pushes us to become suddenly and senselessly "misunderstood", "strange" and "unapproachable". For what? For two dresses and three hairstyles?

When the chosen image is a retro change, it's very costly. According to stylists, retro clothing, so vintage one's, must be carefully chosen and this can not be done by entering the grandparents closet or going to a seamstress who tries to create some fakes. Why? Because sewing techniques were different and fakes are generally some parts amateurish. There are also replicas perfectly executed, however, they are extremely expensive. That goes for extravagant persons in general. Look at them: Daphne Guinness, Anna Dello Russo and Anna Piaggi.

Mihai Albu's wife did a "Flapper style" pictorial and then retained the makeup and clothes in daily life, the street and for parties.
